## Summary

Leicestershire County Council has awarded the "Short Breaks (Play & Leisure) and Domiciliary Care for Children with Disabilities Framework," covering health and social work services (CPV ID: 85000000). The procurement focuses on services that provide disabled children with short breaks and domiciliary care, supporting their care needs while promoting positive mental health and emotional well-being. The framework, initially established on 1st April 2021, will run until 31st March 2025, with the potential for extensions totalling a maximum of four years. The tender was conducted as an open procedure, primarily targeting service providers to cater to the UKF2 region. The Council's procurement update, dated 28th October 2024, highlights an increased spend due to unforeseen demand following the closure of the previous residential overnight short breaks service.

This tender presents significant opportunities for SMEs specialising in health and social care services, particularly those with expertise in short breaks and domiciliary care for children with disabilities. The framework agreement allows for a stable and ongoing partnership with Leicestershire County Council, offering service providers a secure revenue stream and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the community. Companies like The Endorphins Group, Forward Thinking Movement and Dance CIC, Glebe House (Charnwood) Ltd, Goldhill Play Association LTD, and others have already been awarded contracts, indicating a competitive yet promising environment for growth and expansion within this specialised sector.
