## Summary

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is initiating a tender for the procurement of a legal advice and claims handling service related to British Coal Health Claims. This process is currently in the planning stage and is focused on providing essential services in the legal sector, specifically under the category of legal services. The project is based in London, UK, and key dates include a deadline for submitting completed questionnaires by 12:00 on 6 August 2021, with a future notice date set for 1 February 2022. BEIS is responsible for the liabilities of the former British Coal Corporation and seeks a service provider to manage cases and claims for compensation connected with industrial diseases.

This tender presents significant opportunities for legal firms and service providers specialising in personal injury claims and group litigations, particularly those experienced in handling complex cases related to industrial diseases such as asbestosis and mesothelioma. Businesses that can demonstrate expertise in claims management, compliance with legal frameworks such as the Coal Industry Act 1994, and a capability to navigate the legal services panel framework agreement may find this tender particularly beneficial for growth. Participation in this procurement process may allow businesses to establish ongoing relationships with BEIS and contribute to important social justice initiatives.
