Shared Lives Carers offer care and support in their own home.

Norfolk County Council have awarded a contract to a Provider for Shared Lives Service. Shared Lives is a type of care for people with social care needs who are unable to live independently or may not wish to live alone, and is an alternative to supported living, home care or residential care. Shared Lives Carers offer care and support in their own home. This may take the form of regular visits, short periods of support or the individual who needs care and support may live with a Shared Lives Carer. Shared Lives services have the potential to help Norfolk County Council meet requirements placed on local authorities under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012. Shared Lives offers a proven and cost effective way of augmenting the recruitment and retention of care staff elsewhere in the social care system.

Renewal: The Contract may be extended by a further 84 months as follows 36 months + 48 months at the Council's discretion. The value is the annual expected value for the total duration of the contract including any extension for the full 120 months
