## Summary

The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office has initiated a tender process for the "Movement of Personal Effects (12 Month Extension)" contract in the services industry, specifically focusing on employee relocation services. This procurement process is classified as limited, employing an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The decision for a 12-month contract extension, running until 31st August 2022, was prompted by delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The award for this contract was signed on 30th July 2021, with a total value of £12,500,000, and it pertains to the transportation of personal effects for HMG staff deployed overseas, covering various locations worldwide.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in logistics and relocation services. Companies capable of managing the complexities associated with international freight forwarding and personal effects transport would be particularly well-suited to compete for this extended contract. With the existing supplier already in place, there may also be opportunities for subcontracting arrangements, thus enabling businesses of varying sizes to engage in the procurement process. Interested suppliers can discuss potential involvement with the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office as they move towards long-term re-procurement efforts.

The Authority is therefore exceptionally concluding a further 12 month extension of the contract up to 31 August 2022. All of these criteria have been met. The Authority has already commenced the re-procurement project for the replacement contract, including supplier engagement sessions in Spring/Summer 2021. The Authority's new opportunity is advertised at: https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/f613e0a1-cf0e-4f08-a285-3c17b3e17e30 The Authority would be pleased to discuss this extension or the long term re-procurement opportunity with any interested suppliers.
