## Summary

The SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is planning a tender for the construction of the Rural and Veterinary Innovation Centre, which will be situated on plot 9 of the Inverness Campus managed by Highlands and Islands Enterprise. This project, valued at approximately £5.6 million, is classified under the category of construction work for buildings related to education and research. The procurement stage is currently at the planning phase, with the tender anticipated to commence towards the end of September 2021. It is intended that the contract will be awarded by the end of 2021 and construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the construction sector, particularly those specialising in multi-purpose buildings, research facilities, and clinical spaces. Companies that are well-suited to compete for this contract should possess experience in managing complex projects and an understanding of the specific needs associated with scientific and healthcare environments. Engaging with Tier 1 contractors who can offer guidance and expertise will be critical to navigating the logistical challenges of this project, enhancing the potential for growth within the rural and local business economy of the North of Scotland.
