## Summary

The NHS England is currently conducting an open tender for the "NHS Low Calorie Diet Programme," which falls under the health services category. This procurement process is aimed at selecting up to 11 providers to implement a Low Calorie Diet intervention over a maximum contract duration of 3 years, with referrals accepted for 2 additional years. Each provider will cater to around 500 participants living with Type 2 diabetes across various locations, including North East, West Yorkshire, and Somerset. The deadline for tender submissions is set for 20th September 2021, with the procurement stage actively ongoing and the Total estimated value of the contract is £8 million.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those that can deliver dietary interventions and support programmes, either in person or through digital platforms. Businesses engaged in community health services, counselling, and wellness management would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. With a focus on delivering personalised and group sessions, providers that can adapt to various delivery models, including remote service provision, may find a competitive edge. This initiative not only supports public health objectives but also offers a platform for companies to grow by establishing partnerships with NHS England.
