Emergency contract for the Supply of Fresh Fruit, Vegetables and Dairy. The contract shall be for a period of 5 months, with an option to extend for a further period of 2 months whilst a procurement process is undertaken.

Options: There is scope to extend the contract by a period of 2 months.

### Procurement Information

The negotiated procedure without prior publication may be used for public works contracts, public supply contracts and public service contracts in any of the following cases:- (c) insofar as is strictly necessary where, for reasons of extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable by the contracting authority, the time limits for the open or restricted procedures or competitive procedures with negotiation cannot be complied with. On the 28th May 2021, the Council received notification that the supplier contracted to deliver this provision had ceased trading with immediate effect. This contract services a variety of establishments in North Yorkshire, including schools, elderly people's homes, assisted living sites and outdoor education centres, all of which rely on the supply of produce. The Council is preparing to conduct a procurement exercise imminently.
