"Infrastructure" in the context of this project means investing in the setup of new facilities and associated projects and programmes which we believe will make the most difference to the future of our target industrial sub-sectors. The purpose of the UKRI's investment in a new national-scale innovation infrastructure Convergent Screen Technologies And performance in Real-time (CoSTAR) is to help maintain and enhance the UK's leading global position in the Creative Industries by identifying and taking opportunities associated with current and future waves of media and technology convergence, in the face of a rapidly changing international market.
