## Summary

The procurement process involves Warrington Borough Council seeking to manage and operate Household Waste Recycling Centres, classified under refuse and waste related services. The tender was awarded to Environmental Waste Controls Ltd on 27th August 2021, under a competitive procedure with negotiation. This contract, which covers the logistics of waste management and recycling for the local community, ensures that residents have the necessary facilities to dispose of waste materials appropriately. The total contract value is £11,000,000, and there is an option to extend the contract for an additional four-year period if required.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the waste management and recycling industry. Companies specialising in environmental services, logistics, and waste processing would be particularly well-suited to compete, given the focus on quality criteria such as site maintenance, health and safety, and operational performance. By engaging in this procurement process, businesses can not only expand their market presence but also contribute to sustainable practices by enhancing local waste management capabilities.
