## Summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is involved in the procurement process titled "Digital Pathology Framework Extension," focusing on IT services, specifically in software development and consulting. The contract has reached the award stage and has a total value of £8,700,000. This contract, originally signed on 20th September 2017, was to be extended due to unforeseen circumstances, with the modification applying until 31st January 2022. The procurement method used for this contract was a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, and it involves a pilot project running for an additional four months, incorporating various NHS boards within the UKM82 region.

This procurement presents valuable growth opportunities for businesses in the IT services sector, particularly those specialising in software development, digitisation, and technical support for healthcare systems. Companies with capacity to offer complete digitisation systems, including hardware and user training, would be particularly well-suited to compete, given the extended nature of the framework agreement which allows for collaboration across multiple NHS boards. This tender reflects the growing demand for robust health technology solutions, especially in the context of ongoing developments in pathology services.

### Procurement Information

The need to extend this framework has arisen as a direct result of the pandemic and diversion of resources (especially in labs). This modification does not alter the overall nature of the framework agreement.
