## Summary

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in the UK is planning a tender titled "Evidence for Health (E4H) Pakistan," with a primary focus on foreign economic-aid-related services. This initiative is aimed at strengthening health systems in Pakistan, particularly in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in response to Covid-19. The planned procurement, with a projected budget of £50 million, is currently in the planning stage, and an Early Market Engagement Event is scheduled for 13 October 2021. Interested suppliers are encouraged to register via the FCDO Supplier Portal for ongoing communications and updates regarding this initiative.

This tender presents significant business opportunities, particularly for companies involved in health systems strengthening, technical assistance, and equitable health service delivery. Businesses with expertise in health management information systems, evidence-based decision making, or innovative healthcare solutions would be well-suited to compete. The forthcoming publication and subsequent call for competition once the scope is defined may attract a range of suppliers aiming to contribute to improving healthcare resilience and access in Pakistan.

## Notice

This is a prior information notice (PIN) only: Publication and a call for competition will be conducted once the scope of work is fully defined and approved FCDO Pakistan is designing a new health system strengthening programme (E4H) which aims to support response to Covid-19 including maintenance of essential services during the pandemic and building back better a health system that is resilient to future shocks. It will also aim to reduce fertility; preventable maternal, newborn and child deaths and deaths from infectious diseases more widely in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces and accelerate progress towards Universal Health Coverage. The programme will aim to do this by supporting the government's ability to deliver better quality, accessible and equitable health services for to all including the vulnerable groups. There would be also limited technical assistance support at the federal level. Based on learnings from earlier Provincial Health and Nutrition Programme and subsequent Technical assistance, we anticipate the following broad areas of support: 1. Strengthen health management information systems (including disease surveillance, financial, human resources and supply chain management and routine health information systems). 2. Strengthen evidence-based decision making and performance accountability. . 3. Focus on quality as well as coverage of healthcare. 4. Improve efficiencies in healthcare delivery. 5. Enable equitable provision of health services. 6. Test and scale up innovation. Please register interest to the FCDO Supplier Portal for this opportunity (PROJ10209) to receive all communication and updates. There will be an Early Market Engagement Event on 13 October 2021. For all information regarding times and venues please access these details within the additional information contained under the Documents tab. Note, there are 2 elements to registration which must not be confused with each other 1. Suppliers must register their interest to PROJ10209 on the FCDO Supplier Portal to ensure they receive all communications and updates (this is not registration to attend the event) . 2.
