## Summary

The Apex Housing Association is conducting a tender for the construction of social and affordable housing at the former Newtownabbey High School site, Rathcoole Drive, Newtownabbey. The project involves the construction of up to 120 homes and is classified under the CPV code for construction work for multi-dwelling buildings and individual houses. The estimated contract value is £15 million with a contract duration of approximately 104 weeks, commencing in March 2022, pending planning approval and funding. The tender submission deadline is set for 5th November 2021, and the procurement method follows a restricted procedure.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction firms, especially those specialising in social and affordable housing projects. Businesses engaged in civil engineering, general contracting, and those with experience in building on brownfield sites would be particularly well-suited to compete. Additionally, companies with capabilities in sustainable construction practices, such as Nearly Zero Energy houses and other environmentally friendly methods, would find great potential in fulfilling the requirements outlined in the tender.
