## Summary

The Northern Lighthouse Board is seeking suppliers for "The Supply of Mooring Components" in support of its fleets of Aids-to-Navigation (AtoNs). This procurement, classified under the goods category, is now complete and involved an open tender process for items such as chains and mooring equipment, vital for maintaining navigational buoyage across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The procurement process, which began on 14th January 2022, was aimed at fulfilling the board's needs until a future collaborative procurement with the General Lighthouse Authority is established. The contract was signed on 13th January 2022, amounting to £226,000, and was focused on delivering specific requirements to be used out of Oban, Scotland.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the marine equipment sector, particularly those specialising in mooring components and chains. Businesses equipped to meet the Lloyd's Rules and ISO 1704 standards would find this procurement appealing, as compliance with these quality criteria was crucial for selection. Given the emphasis on social value, lead time, and technical specifications in the award criteria, suppliers with innovative solutions and strong quality control measures are well-positioned to compete for similar future contracts.
