## Summary

Bedford Borough Council is conducting a procurement process titled "Barristers' Services Framework" in the legal services industry category. The procurement is currently at the Tender stage, which began on 28th October 2021 and is set to close on 29th November 2021. The total value of the framework agreement is estimated at £4,000,000, and it aims to provide a means for the Council to procure barristers' services, especially when specialist expertise is required beyond the capabilities of the in-house Legal Services Unit. The primary location for the delivery of services is the UK.

This tender presents significant opportunities for firms specialising in legal services, particularly those with expertise in areas such as social care legislation, governance, and planning. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with capabilities to handle statutory obligations—such as advising on education law or supporting the Council in regards to Freedom of Information requests—will be well suited to compete. In light of the framework agreement's potential extensions, businesses can expect ongoing opportunities to engage in this procurement over the coming years.

## Notice

Bedford Borough Council ('the Council') invites Chambers to tender for the provision of a Barristers' Framework Agreement. This Framework will provide a route to market for the purchase of barristers' services, where there is demand for capacity or specialist expertise that cannot be met within the Council's in-house Legal Services Unit.
