## Summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is in the planning stage of re-tendering a contract titled "Aids for Daily Living Goods & Services Contract." This procurement process falls within the medical aids industry category and aims to provide essential equipment and services to support individuals with illnesses or disabilities in Edinburgh and the Lothians. The estimated value of the contract is £18,000,000, and the Council intends to merge two existing contracts into one. Interested suppliers need to submit their expressions of interest by 12 noon on 19th November 2021, after which the Council will explore options for either using an existing national framework or conducting an open competitive tender process.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in medical aids and personal care products, particularly those equipped to deliver a comprehensive range of goods and services across the specified geographical area. Companies involved in the supply and maintenance of daily living aids, lifting equipment, and community health services would be particularly well-suited to compete. The requirement for providers to ensure a robust infrastructure and capacity to support vulnerable groups highlights the potential for established suppliers and innovative service providers to contribute to improving care outcomes for citizens in the local area.

## Notice

The City of Edinburgh Council (the Council) are in the early stages of planning the re-tendering of the Aids for Daily Living Equipment Supply Contract and the Aids for Daily Living Equipment Servicing & Maintenance Contract, both of which have been extended to 31 May 2022, with the intention of merging both contracts into a single contract moving forward. The Council is currently examining options in terms of "route to market" which will likely be either 1. utilising an existing national framework agreement or 2. undertaking an open procedure competitive tender process. The Council is seeking to appoint a single organisation or consortium which have the capacity and infrastructure to deliver the entire portfolio of goods and services in the required geographical area, and the purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to assess the number of suppliers in the market which fit that criteria and would be interested in tendering. If you are interested, please note interest in this notice and email me at claudine.persaud@edinburgh.gov.uk providing a short summary of your companies suitability in terms of the further information provided within section II.2.4 of this notice (Description of the procurement) by 12 noon on Friday 19/11/21.
