## Summary

The NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is seeking services for its tender titled "16-17 Year Old De-Escalation Safe Space (non-clinical support)" aimed at providing crisis support for young people aged 16 and 17. The procurement process, which is currently in the award stage, employs an open procedure and is classified under "Guidance and counselling services" within the health industry. This procurement presents an exciting opportunity for businesses focused on mental health and community services, particularly those ready to provide innovative and tailored interventions for young individuals facing crises. Companies with expertise in counselling, support services, and community-based health initiatives would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. The successful bidder will have the chance to contribute significantly to mental health support in the community, potentially fostering long-term partnerships and enhancing their service offerings in the sector.

## Notice

Sheffield sought to pilot a crisis safe space for young people aged 16 and 17 undergoing mental health or behavioural crisis that do not require a formal mental health hospital provision. The aim for the service is to ensure that timely and effective crisis support is delivered in a community setting, away from an acute hospital environment when not clinically necessary. The community-based crisis safe space will offer a safe supportive environment for the de-escalation of mental health or behavioural crisis as a cooling off period for the young person experiencing crisis. The provision will enable a community wrap-round rapid response to enact a holistic needs assessment.
