## Summary

The Department of Health and Social Care is initiating a procurement process titled "Antiviral Drug Supply for COVID-19" as part of its efforts to address the ongoing pandemic. This process is classified under the industry category of medicinal products, specifically targeting various antiviral drugs effective in treating COVID-19. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with market engagement activities scheduled, including webinars on 23rd November and 1st December 2021. Suppliers are requested to register their interest by completing a questionnaire by 13:00 GMT on 22nd December 2021. The potential delivery addresses include the Department of Health and Social Care located in London, and the total estimated value of this procurement process is £1.00.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for pharmaceutical companies and businesses involved in the development and supply of antiviral medications, particularly those that can provide evidence of their compound’s effectiveness and mechanism of action. Companies that can deliver therapeutics suitable for home or community use, ideally with self-administration or single-dose administration options, would be particularly well-suited to participate. Engaging in this procurement process not only allows businesses to showcase their products but also to be part of a critical response to public health needs in the UK, including the Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories.
