## Summary

The tender titled "Corporate Power Purchase Agreement" was initiated by NI Water, the largest user of electricity in Northern Ireland, looking to secure between 45 to 90 GWh of electricity per annum from renewable sources for its numerous sites. The procurement method employed was a selective procedure with prior call for competition, and while the status of this tender is currently cancelled, it aimed to provide price security through renewable energy supply over a long-term period of 10-20 years. The procurement was part of the "goods" category, specifically addressing electricity supply, and was classified under CPV codes relevant to energy distribution and services in the UK.

This tender provides opportunities for businesses specialising in renewable energy solutions, particularly those capable of negotiating Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs). Companies that develop renewable projects, especially in solar and wind energy, would be well-positioned to compete, given NI Water's ambition to enhance its green energy portfolio. With the ongoing volatility in electricity pricing, suppliers who can offer reliable, competitively priced green energy solutions have the potential for significant growth through partnerships with NI Water.

## Notice

NI Water is the largest user of electricity in Northern Ireland and currently consumes approximately 290 GWh of electricity per annum and is seeking to agree commercially attractive PPAs with suitable renewable projects to deliver approximately 45 - 90 GWh of power per annum across almost 3000 sites. With the introduction of iSEM and the volatility of electricity pricing, which is heavily influenced by commodity and foreign exchange markets, NI Water recognises the potential for it to engage with renewable developers and procure electricity for future years providing both a reliable supply of "green" electricity and price security for periods of 10-20 years. NI Water wishes to procure between 15-30 percent of its electricity from renewable sources through off site Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs). As a result NI Water is looking run a competitive tender process and enter into a Contract(s) for CPPA(s) to provide this supply of electricity to a number of NI Water sites.
