## Summary

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the UK has completed a procurement process for the support of ALE 47 and M147 Counter Measure Dispensing Systems (CMDS). This contract was initiated as a tender under the services category, specifically focusing on repair and maintenance services. The procurement method used was limited, allowing for a negotiated procedure without publication of a contract notice. The contract, with an estimated value of £295,898 for a six-month extension from 1st January 2022, relates to the through-life support of CMDS fitted to various military aircraft. The award was formally approved on 24th November 2021, and the delivery location is within the UK.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the defence sector, particularly those specialising in repair and maintenance services for military systems and aircraft. Companies with expertise in defence technology, software support, or those capable of fulfilling specific technical requirements associated with CMDS would be well-positioned to compete for similar contracts. As this contract was awarded to Petards Joyce-Loebl, businesses looking to enter this niche market should consider forming strategic partnerships or developing innovative solutions to meet the MOD's ongoing needs.
