## Summary

The procurement process is managed by Prosper, a central purchasing body based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. It involves the design and consultancy services framework, which requires bidders to provide a range of architectural, construction, engineering, and inspection services across the North East, Cumbria, and North Yorkshire. The tender is currently in the planning stage with submissions due by 10 January 2022, aiming to establish a multi-supplier framework across 11 distinct lots, including Planning Services and Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Design, among others. The total value of the framework is estimated at £50 million, with an initial contract period of 24 months and an option for extensions of up to two additional years.

This framework presents significant opportunities for businesses in the construction and engineering sectors, especially smaller to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) well-versed in providing specialised services such as ecological assessments, health and safety consultancy, and civil engineering. Given that multiple lots are available, companies focused on design, planning, and project management can strategise to bid on several contractual opportunities, effectively diversifying their potential revenue streams while contributing to public sector projects in a collaborative environment.
