## Summary

The Department for Education is initiating a market engagement process for Mandatory Qualifications for Sensory Impairment (MQSI) Providers as part of their procurement planning. This process falls under the education and training services category and aims to develop a new approvals procedure for MQSI providers starting in the academic year 2023/2024. Interested parties should note that a virtual market engagement event is scheduled for the week commencing 17 January 2022, with registration open until 14 January 2022. The event will focus on gathering feedback to ensure a high-quality supply of teachers for children with sensory impairments in the UK.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses in higher education, special education services, and related sectors to engage in the development of mandatory qualifications. Businesses that can provide quality training and qualifications for teachers catering to children with sensory impairments will be particularly well-positioned to compete. By participating in this event and responding to the forthcoming communication, companies can influence and align their offerings with the Department for Education's objectives, thereby fostering growth and expanding their market presence in this niche but critical area of education.
