## Summary

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has completed a procurement process for a service provider to support climate-smart development and urban resilience in Nepal, titled "Service Provider for Climate Smart Development & Urban Resilience for Nepal." This tender falls under the industry category of foreign economic-aid-related services and has been awarded to Mott MacDonald following a limited procurement method, specifically negotiated without the publication of a contract notice. The contract, which is valued at £5,946,106, was signed on 3rd December 2021, and it includes provisions for a potential extension to accommodate additional needs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, with a projected budget increase of £19,818,40 to ensure continuity of services.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in climate change adaptation, renewable energy, and urban resilience projects. Companies with expertise in delivery of technical assistance, project management, and financial oversight in collaboration with government agencies would be particularly well-suited to compete in similar future tenders. The nature of the work requires not only technical proficiency but also a strong understanding of the socio-economic context in Nepal, making this an attractive opportunity for firms focused on international development and environmental consulting.
