South Hams District Council (SHDC) and West Devon Borough Council (WDBC) commenced a programme of 59 units in SHDC and 29 Units in WDBC in 2019 to meet the need of affordable community housing in South Devon. This is the second scheme within this programme with the wider pipeline aiming to produce 50 units year. The houses embrace innovative and sustainable build design with the aim to provide houses which are energy efficient to ensure low running costs are achieved for the inhabitants. Previously, this was procured with vision that the scheme will be delivered using 2 concurrent contracts - one with SHDC and the other with South Brent Community Land Trust. However, now it will be the procurement of a Main Contractor for a single rural housing project located in South Brent with a single contract with SHDC.
