## Summary

The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) is planning to initiate a tender for a Managed Service Contract focused on the Renal Medicine and Haemodialysis Satellite Unit. This procurement falls within the health and social work services sector and is based in Birmingham, UK. The anticipated future notice is scheduled for 3rd March 2022, with the contract expected to support various renal services including hospital and home haemodialysis. The service currently operates from facilities within Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, handling approximately 1,300 patients through an extensive haemodialysis programme.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for healthcare service providers, particularly those specialising in renal care and medical services, to expand their market presence. Companies with expertise in renal support devices, haemodialysis solutions, and patient care services would be well-positioned to compete. The planned expansion of UHB’s haemodialysis programme, projected to grow by approximately 3%, underscores the potential for successful bidders to enhance their business and contribute to improved patient outcomes within the NHS framework.
