## Summary

Kent County Council is initiating the procurement process for a Young Carers Service aimed at enhancing support for young carers in Kent. This tender is classified under the health and social work services industry category and has a planned total value of £976,500. The procurement stage is currently in the planning phase, with the Expression of Interest (EOI) period running from 12:00 on 17 December 2021 until 15:00 on 24 December 2022. The service is set to commence in May 2022 and aims to ensure that young carers and their families are identified, assessed, and supported adequately as per the statutory requirements outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for organisations specialised in health and social care services, particularly those with experience in supporting young people and vulnerable groups. Providers capable of delivering comprehensive assessment, advocacy, and ongoing support services will be especially well-suited to compete for this contract. Additionally, businesses that can demonstrate a commitment to training professionals in identifying and assisting young carers will be valuable contenders. With the contract intended for a duration of up to three years, successful bidders can look forward to establishing a sustainable engagement within the community, helping improve the lives of young carers across Kent.
