## Summary

The procurement process for the "Contract for the Provision of Emergency Pipeline Services & Planned Works" was initiated by Northern Gas Networks Limited. This contract, which falls under the services related to the oil and gas industry sector, was officially signed on 17 December 2021, with an active award status. The contract is set for a period of four years starting from 1 February 2022, with options for two additional one-year extensions. The procurement method utilised for this process was limited, specifically through a negotiated agreement without the prior publication of a contract notice, due to the technical nature of the services required.

This procurement represents a significant opportunity for businesses engaged in the oil and gas services sector, particularly those with capabilities in emergency response, pipeline maintenance, and non-destructive testing. Companies that specialise in providing emergency services or possess advanced technical expertise in pipeline systems would be well-positioned to compete for the non-emergency components of this contract. Given the strategic significance of the contracting authority and the ongoing demand for reliable pipeline services, successful bidders could expect to enhance their market presence and establish long-term partnerships in an essential industry.
