## Summary

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, is preparing to award a contract for the supply of 20 cases of the Inari Flow Triever Catheter System. This procurement falls under the goods category, specifically the supply of medical catheters, and is currently in the planning stage. The total estimated value of the contract is £130,000. Interested parties should note that a future notice regarding this opportunity is expected to be issued on 28 January 2022, while the communication regarding the tender is available through the NHS procurement website.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in the medical device industry, particularly those specialising in catheter supplies and related accessories. Companies with innovative solutions for the mechanical aspiration of blood clots may find themselves particularly suited to compete, given the specific needs outlined by the health board. As the procurement aims to enhance treatment capabilities for high-risk patients, businesses that can offer cutting-edge medical technology or improved service capabilities stand to benefit from participating in this process, potentially leading to a fruitful long-term partnership with the NHS.

## Notice

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board wish to inform the market that they intend to award Inari Medical a contract to supply 20 cases of the Inari Flow Triever.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Throughout 2021, Cardiff and Vale Health Board has been conducting a trial for the Inari Flow Triever. The device is used for the mechanical aspiration of blood clots when treating high risk, acute pulmonary embolism. The Inari device has a calibre up to three times the diameter of similar devices. Currently, the health board uses two other systems, which will continue to be used in appropriate cases. Through the acquisition of the Inari Flow Triever, the health board will be able to treat large clot presentations with greater flexibility, resulting in decreased mortality and morbidity. Without this purchase the health board will be unable to provide optimal treatment modalities for high-risk patients. This will result in an increased need for critical care access with a high incidence of mortality.
