Local Authorities are required to undertake annual skid resistance (Grip Tester) surveys. As a minimum, this should be undertaken on A-Roads, with the results submitted to the Department for Transport (DfT).The results help identify roads requiring skid resistance improvements, to reduce the risk of skidding related incidents. Currently, some authorities also include B and C roads to assist with the prioritisation of the Highways maintenance programme. The purpose of this tender is to appoint a contractor to undertake skid resistance (Grip Tester) surveys on behalf of the West Midlands Authorities across their highway network. Additional information: This framework is available to the following West Midlands Authorities:Birmingham City Council UKG31, Coventry City Council UKG33, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council UKG36, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council UKG37, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council UKG32, Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council UKG38 and Wolverhampton City Council UKG39

Renewal: It is envisaged that the contract will be advertised 4 to 6 months prior to the expiry date.
