## Summary

Anglian Water Services Limited has completed the procurement process for the "Renewable Energy Assets Framework (REAF)" aimed at procuring renewable energy directly from generators near its operational sites. The framework supports Anglian Water's carbon reduction goals and enhances operational efficiency. The procurement method used was a selective negotiated procedure with prior call for competition. The framework covers goods in the electricity sector and involves laying direct power connections from renewable energy assets to Anglian Water sites, benefiting both parties through reduced costs and long-term agreements.

This tender by Anglian Water Services Limited presents opportunities for suppliers in the electricity sector, especially those dealing with renewable energy assets. Businesses suited to compete in this procurement process are those capable of providing direct power connections from renewable energy generators to operational sites. The procurement stage has concluded with active contracts signed, providing a potential for long-term partnerships and growth opportunities for businesses involved in the renewable energy sector.

## Notice

Anglian Water is establishing this framework as a means to procure renewable energy directly from renewable energy generators in close proximity to our operational sites. The renewable energy generators, for example solar or wind, are either existing assets, or those that are proposed nearby our sites. The consumption of renewable energy is a key component of our route map to Net Zero carbon by 2030 - this framework will support our carbon reduction ambitions, as well as increase operational efficiency.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Anglian Water has a number of operational sites across its region which are largely powered by energy from network providers (approx. 700GWh per year). This tender provides an opportunity for suppliers to lay a direct power connection from private energy providers' renewable energy assets to Anglian Water sites in close proximity. The scope of this sourcing activity is to realise opportunities at a local level, rather than securing a renewable energy supply for the entire region. The core principle of this arrangement is that there is a mutual commercial benefit in contracting directly with a private supplier for the supply of electricity; AW would benefit from reduced energy importing costs, whilst the supplier would benefit from long term power purchase agreements (PPAs). It should be noted that PPAs could be in place for 30 years. It is expected that the interconnections installation process will be managed by Anglian's existing capital delivery alliances, or Anglian's own supply chain to ensure any works are delivered safely. two.2.5) Award criteriaII.2.5) Award criteria Price is not the only award criterion and all criteria are stated only in the procurement documents
