## Summary

NHS England initiated a tender for the provision of a Bi-Directional Interface with ESR_Cohort Portal. The procurement process has been completed, and the contract was awarded to COHORT SOFTWARE LTD. The tender falls under the services category in the IT services industry. The objective is to build an interface specification and infrastructure for Occupational Health data exchange between ESR and NHS Trusts, with funding provided by NHS England. The procurement method was a limited procedure without prior publication, with a focus on additional IT work required for the Digital Staff Passport initiative.

This tender by NHS England presents business growth opportunities for IT service providers specialising in consulting, software development, and Internet support. Companies capable of efficiently delivering digital solutions for healthcare organisations, particularly those experienced in interoperable IT systems and bi-directional interfaces, would be well-suited to compete. Given the emphasis on remote work and considerations for Covid restrictions, businesses with remote service capabilities and a track record in national healthcare projects could leverage this opportunity to expand their presence in the healthcare IT sector.

## Notice

The overall aims and objectives are for the NHS to deliver a digital staff passport service to meet the needs of two main user cases:
(a) the rotational movements of Doctors in Training (both permanent changes in employment and through lead employer arrangements) and;
(b) temporary staff movements of any NHS staff member.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

NHS England will provide the funding as outlined below to the supplier, to build the ESR-NHS0067 Occupational Health interface specification provided by ESR. Additional information: As this is a national programme of work, the supplier will need to be prepared to work with localities across England. In line with current operating models it is expected that most work will be undertaken remotely. Any travel arrangements should be made in line with government advice on Covid restrictions, with teams encouraged to work remotely as far as feasible.

### Procurement Information

Additional interoperable IT work required to progress Digital Staff Passport requirements.
