## Summary

The procurement process involves UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) seeking to acquire a Micro CT System, designated with the tender ID UKRI-1818. This purchasing initiative falls under the industry category of laboratory equipment, specifically within the Microscopes classification (CPV code: 38510000). The procurement method is classified as limited, with an award procedure conducted without prior publication of a call for competition. The procurement stage has been completed, and the contract, valued at £363,900, was signed on 13 December 2021. The delivery of goods will take place in the United Kingdom.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in high-value laboratory equipment, particularly those that manufacture or supply advanced imaging systems. Companies that excel in providing innovative scientific technology solutions, alongside those capable of delivering comprehensive maintenance contracts, will find themselves well-positioned to compete. Given the competitive award process, organisations similar to or larger than Bruker UK Ltd, the awarded supplier, could effectively leverage their experiences and capabilities to secure future contracts in this sector.

## Notice

3D X-Ray MicroCT Imaging System. Utilising innovative X-ray technology, MicroCT systems non-destructively capture 2D images, slice-by-slice, through solid samples whilst they are progressively rotated on their axis. Slices are then processed into detailed 3D models allowing not only see through a tissue, or organ, but also to see inside and make out object details as small as 0.4-0.5 mm within an entire undissected organism and make out sub-micron structural, spatial and volumetric detail. In addition we required a 4-year maintenance contract. .
