## Summary

The Anglia Ruskin University has completed a tender process for the procurement of Manikins for Simulated Learning under the T21/27 project. The procurement aimed to support the increased demand for simulation time in clinical skills areas across Cambridge, Chelmsford, and Peterborough campuses. The manikins are to be used for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including courses for nursing, midwifery, and allied health students. The procurement has been categorised under medical equipment for the healthcare industry. The tender has been cancelled, and the contract required initial deliveries for Chelmsford and Cambridge by April 28, 2022, and for Peterborough by July 2022.

The procurement of Manikins for Simulated Learning by Anglia Ruskin University presents an opportunity for suppliers of medical equipment, specifically those specialising in advanced simulation products for healthcare education. The procurement process, though currently cancelled, included criteria based on price, with an option for a possible 24-month extension. Suppliers interested in providing advanced medical simulation manikins for educational purposes would find this tender suitable for potential business growth and collaboration opportunities with Anglia Ruskin University.

## Notice

ARU are developing new Clinical skills areas, on their Cambridge, Chelmsford, and Peterborough campuses to supplement the increased demand for simulation time, in line with the latest guidance from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and with the increase in numbers of nursing, midwifery and allied health students. The new clinical skills labs will contain primary and secondary care simulated learning environments and will be used for undergraduate and post graduate teaching including our three-year undergraduate courses, our 4-year dual nursing registration course and our post graduate professional development courses. The manikins will supplement the advanced scenario-based simulation, primarily based around patient care from a nurse's perspective in both the ward environment and the home, recognising and responding to the deteriorating patient (both child and adult) and advanced clinical assessment and interventions in our post graduate courses.
