## Summary

The procurement process involves the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council planning a tender for the "Parent Peer Advocacy & Support Service," classified under social services. The procurement is in the "planning" stage, with a key market engagement event scheduled for 8th February 2022, set to be conducted virtually. Interested organisations will have the opportunity to provide input on the proposed service and engage directly with the service development team. The geographical focus is on the region of West Glamorgan within the United Kingdom.

This tender presents an exciting opportunity for businesses specialising in social services, particularly those with experience in advocacy and support systems within child protection and care contexts. Companies providing stakeholder representation services, health and social work services, or related social work services would be well-suited to compete. The engagement event will enable potential providers to share insights that may shape the final service specification, thereby fostering collaboration and innovation within the procurement process.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

PAN (Parent Advocacy Network) West Glamorgan, Neath Port Talbot Council and Swansea Council are currently developing ideas to create a new 'Parent Peer Advocacy and Support Service'. The service aims to enhance the current advocacy network through the creation of a pool of employed Parent Peer Advocates who have lived experience of the child protection or care system. They will deliver a professional standard of peer advocacy and support to parents who are going through the child protection or care system. Interested organisations are invited to meet the service development team to learn more about the proposed service and to provide feedback to inform further service development. A market engagement event has been arranged for Tuesday 8th February 2022. Providers who may be interested in delivering the service are invited to meet and discuss the service ideas with the service development team. The event is an opportunity for the service development team to seek views on the relative strengths and weaknesses of the service model and to explore ways to improve service delivery which may help to inform the service specification. There will also be an opportunity for the provider to ask the team any questions it may have around the proposed service. The format of the event will consist of 1 hour slots for each provider, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams. Slots will be allocated on a first come first served basis. For providers who book to attend the event, they will receive a discussion paper which will be emailed in advance of the event. Providers who are interested in engaging with the service development team through this event should contact Pam Morgans on the following email address ccu@npt.gov.uk or alternatively on 01639 686350 confirming they would like to attend. The service development team may also extend the events to other days should it be required.
