## Summary

The Ministry of Defence is currently engaged in a tender process for the "Specialist and Autonomous Mobility Experimentation Framework Agreement (SAM EFA)" aimed at the installation services of testing equipment within the services industry. This procurement is taking place in the UK, with the tender period scheduled to close on 25th February 2022. The contract will commence on 1st June 2022 and run until 31st May 2024, allowing for a potential extension of twelve months. The procurement method applied is a selective procedure, indicating a restricted approach to potential bidders.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in testing and innovative mobility solutions, particularly those focusing on small-scale items suitable for experimentation. Companies that specialise in installation services for various engine types, demolition of vehicles, and navigating equipment are recommended to consider this opportunity. The purchasing organisation is open to suppliers who can support experimentation activities, either directly or by collaborating with other service providers, thereby fostering a collaborative environment that can enhance business growth.

## Notice

The Authority's Specialist and Autonomous Mobility (SAM) intends to set-up a 'SAM Experimentation Framework Agreement (EFA)' to provide the following: a. The purchase of small numbers of items (10 or less per item) to use for 'Experimentation' purposes (for example to trial to prove concepts and what items can best provide for them); b. Purchase of follow-up orders of some or all of these items when the Experimentation has identified item(s) suitable for follow-on purchases to use as 'Interim Solutions' or for further 'Experimentation', whilst any possible 'Core Requirement' identified via the 'Experimentation' is procured outside of the SAM EFA; and c. To enable the Authority to procure support to the activities associated with (a) and (b) above (for example, support to trials) that may take place either in the UK or abroad. Note: The Authority recognises that not all suppliers are able to provide such support and whilst suppliers unable to provide support are encouraged to source it via other suppliers, the Authority can be exception, source support activity via other means and you will not be excluded from having a place on the SAM EFA if you cannot provide this service.
