## Summary

The Corporate Officer of the House of Lords and the Corporate Officer of the House of Commons is planning to procure an "Automated Access Control System (AACS) Software, Ongoing Support, Maintenance and Hardware." The procurement, estimated at £8 million, primarily targets the security software industry and encompasses the Parliamentary Estate in London. Currently in the planning stage, interested suppliers must submit an expression of interest by 18th February 2022. An Industry Day to provide further details about the procurement will take place on 23rd February 2022, where suppliers can engage with the project team and discuss the proposed procurement scope.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in security software, IT hardware, and related support services. Companies offering expertise in the installation, maintenance, and development of access control systems, as well as helpdesk support, would be well-positioned to compete. Participation in this procurement may foster long-term business relationships and provide a stable workload, as the contract spans a potential ten-year duration with options for extensions, making it a valuable prospect for growth within the public sector.

## Notice

The authority is looking to engage contractors, with capability and capacity to lead, coordinate and deliver a new Automated Access Control System (AACS) software including the hardware platforms that support the software such as servers and terminals (but not door controllers or card readers). The contract will include installation and commissioning of the new software, the ongoing support (including help desk / call centre support) and maintenance and repair of the new AACS software and related equipment for a period of 10 years, with the options to exit at year 5 and year 7 if performance is below the standard required of the contract. There will also be the option for a 1 year (12 months) extension. The Authority will procure some services from the incumbent supplier to enable a smooth transition from the old AACS system software to the new. In scope will be the Parliamentary Estate including the Palace of Westminster and all outbuildings, any buildings added to the estate in future and decant buildings resulting from Restoration & Renewal (R&R). The new software must have sufficient capacity to cover all planned estate expansion.
