## Summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is conducting the Smart Infusion Pump Communication and Programming Project, aimed at integrating ICU Medical infusion pumps with the iQemo Chemotherapy prescribing system. This procurement is classified under the goods category, specifically focusing on software packages and information systems, with a budget of £180,000. The tender process was undertaken using a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition, considering the technical requirements that only specific operators can fulfil. The project is in the award stage, with the contract signed on 31 January 2022, and the work will take place in Manchester, UK.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses that specialise in healthcare technology solutions, particularly those with experience in developing software integration for medical devices. Companies with the capability to enhance e-prescribing systems and provide technical support for chemotherapy monitoring systems will find this project advantageous. Given the contract's specificity about interfacing with ICU Medical pumps and iQemo software, businesses that offer similar specialised services or products are well-placed to engage in future competitive opportunities related to this initiative.

## Notice

### Procurement Information

The Trust utilises ICU Medical pumps across the organisation. The ICU Medical pumps can only interface with Mednet (the ICU middleware) and cannot interface with any third party software. The Trust utilises iQemo for all of its chemotherapy prescribing. Mednet interfaces with iQemo in order to provide the required functionality around progress and will via this contract development take the programming for the pump directly from the prescription in iQemo; bi-directional interfaces between iQemo and Mednet have been developed for this purpose and the contract will see these interfaces being further refined and developed. These functionalities require access to the ICU Medical pumps and to the patient prescription, demographic and other information in iQemo, and will also impact on the chair scheduling module currently in use within iQemo.
