## Summary

The procurement process for the "Peterhead to North Yorkshire HVDC Link Project" involves National Grid Electricity Transmission PLC and Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission PLC jointly developing a HVDC link between Peterhead, Scotland and Drax, England. The project includes two Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts for the detailed design, engineering, procurement, installation, and maintenance of the HVDC Link. The procurement is at the award stage, with the contracts signed on February 26 and February 28, 2024. The project falls under the works category in the construction industry and is being conducted through a selective negotiated procedure.

This tender opportunity for the HVDC Link Project provides business growth opportunities for firms specializing in construction, high-voltage cable installation, and electricity distribution equipment. Companies experienced in EPC contracts for HVDC projects and with expertise in working with converter stations and underground/submarine cables are well-suited to compete. The project's location spans between Scotland and England, with key deadlines for full commissioning set for Q4 2029. Successful applicants may need to enter joint venture arrangements for execution, ensuring competitive advantage for businesses familiar with such collaborative setups in the energy transmission sector.
