The Class 3000 uses a Verint CCTV system, while the Class 4000 uses a Picard CCTV system. These are both analogue systems with low resolution video. They both require the hard drive to be physically removed from the vehicle and incidents reviewed using a docking station and dedicated laptop. The C3K Verint system has limited capability, as only two cameras are available in each saloon. This gives poor coverage with no images available of the passenger entrances or toilet areas. As part of the Translink Connected Vehicle Strategy and to improve in service monitoring of key systems a need for a digital CCTV system with the ability to download video remotely has been identified. Translink requires the installation of a CCTV system on both fleets that will provide better CCTV coverage, image quality and improve efficiency and reliability with the capabilities of remote viewing and downloads. It will provide other benefits such as reducing visits to the vehicles for download purposes to zero. We are therefore seeking to engage with experienced CCTV providers, which are capable of fulfilling all of the requirements listed above..
