## Summary

Westmorland and Furness Council has completed a procurement process for the "Provision of Supported Living for People with a Learning Disability, Mental Health Problem, Autism or a Physical/Sensory Impairment". This contract, aimed at developing the supported living infrastructure in Cumbria, falls under the Health and social work services category. The procurement, following an open procedure, resulted in an active contract valued at £85,661,000, signed on 6th September 2024. Activities will be carried out across specific regions such as Allerdale, Copeland, Carlisle, Eden, South Lakeland, and Furness, seeking to meet the diverse needs of the local population. Initial procurement stages led by Cumbria County Council have transitioned to the award and contract stages managed by Westmorland and Furness Council.

The tender offers numerous growth opportunities for businesses specializing in health and social care services. The framework agreement is designed to remain open, allowing additional providers to join and contribute throughout its term. This flexibility is advantageous for companies looking to establish or expand their services in areas such as supported living for individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism, or physical/sensory impairments. Organisations with expertise in delivering high-quality, person-centred care in these domains will be well-positioned to benefit from participating in this framework, meeting both the immediate and evolving needs of the Cumbrian community.
