The work undertaken under this proposed contract is necessary in order for the Secretary of State to carry out his legal duties under the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations. Those duties relate to decisions on whether to grant exemptions to the restrictions the Regulations place on substances that can be used in the production of manufactured goods.

Options: The Agreement may be extended for a further maximum period of one year, to be agreed annually between the Parties. Any extension will be via the change control process as details in the contract terms and conditions. Defra will use reasonable endeavours to facilitate any extension before the Agreement expires, the supplier should be aware that any work undertaken before an electronically approved addendum is approved by both Defra and the supplier is undertaken at the supplier's own risk
