## Summary

The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is planning a procurement titled "H3AT Glove Box Housing" aimed at acquiring 20 non-nuclear gloveboxes along with associated components, crucial for the Tritium Plant currently under construction at the Culham Science Centre in Abingdon, UK. This initiative falls under the goods procurement category, with an estimated value of £1,050,000 and is currently in the planning stage. UKAEA intends to initiate a competitive tendering process following an engagement exercise with potential suppliers, with a future notice date set for 1st July 2022.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in laboratory and precision equipment fabrication, engineering design, and supply capabilities for radioactive materials. Companies with expertise in manufacturing and providing bespoke equipment for the fusion research sector will find this tender highly relevant, especially as the project aims to support advancements in fusion as a commercial power source while fostering collaboration within academia and industry for handling tritium and other isotopes.

## Notice

UKAEA wishes to engage with potential glovebox manufacturers and suppliers for the provision of 20-off non-nuclear type gloveboxes and associated components to act as secondary containment for tritium process equipment. These gloveboxes will be utilised in a number of sub-systems that will make up the Tritium Plant located within the new H3AT Facility currently in construction on the UKAEA Culham site. Through this process we are looking to open-up the engagement for suppliers with the aim of ensuring there is sufficient production capability and capacity to meet project timelines and design requirements. After the engagement exercise, UKAEA intend to issue an Invitation to Tender through the EU Supply and Find a Tender portals (replacement to Tenders Electronic Daily) to procure services for design and provision of equipment through competitively tendered contracts.
