## Summary

The procurement process involves the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, seeking qualified bidders for the "Civil and Structural Engineer — Hospitals of the Future Project" at the Leeds General Infirmary Site. This initiative falls within the healthcare industry and aims to provide innovative civil and structural engineering services as part of the UK Government’s Health Infrastructure Plan. Currently at the award stage, the procurement features two key contracts for civil and structural engineering design services and related due diligence advisory roles. Key milestones include the project's expected completion in 2025 and the active contracts signed at the beginning of 2022 with a total value of approximately £2.59 million.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in civil and structural engineering, particularly those with expertise in healthcare infrastructure. Companies that can demonstrate innovative design solutions and sustainability practices will be well-positioned to compete. Given the complexity and scale of this project, firms offering specialist consultancy services in areas such as acoustics, microclimates, and construction methodologies like Designing for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) will be particularly suited to participate in this procurement process.

## Notice

The Trust's Hospitals of the future project was included within Phase 1 of the UK Government's flagship Health Infrastructure Plan ('HIP') and will be among one of the first projects to be delivered. The Trust is proposing a major redevelopment of the Leeds General Infirmary hospital site to create modern, state of the art healthcare facilities that will expand the Trust's world-class healthcare services. The new healthcare facilities will include a new Children's Hospital, alongside a new adult hospital that will include a new maternity centre and other acute, ambulatory and clinical support services. The new healthcare facilities are expected to be in the region of 94 000 m2 subject to design, to complete in 2025. This procurement is seeking to appoint an experience civil and structural engineering designer and separately a civil and structural engineering due diligence and technical advisor.
