## Summary

The Kirklees Council is currently engaged in a procurement process titled "KMCAS-144 Independent Domestic Abuse Advocates," which falls under the health and social work services category. The tender aims to provide essential services to victims of domestic abuse within the Borough of Kirklees, located in the UKE44 region. The active contract period extends for 1080 days, and the procurement method follows a framework agreement with an initial contract duration of 12 months, allowing for two possible extensions of an additional 12 months each. The contract was signed on 10th February 2020 and involves services that coordinate the safety and well-being of high-risk victims through a multi-agency approach.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses involved in social work and community services, especially those specialising in domestic abuse support, mental health services, and community outreach. Companies that can offer trained Independent Domestic Abuse Advocates or have experience working collaboratively with law enforcement and health services to assist at-risk individuals would be particularly well-suited to compete. Additionally, this contract may also attract the interest of small and medium enterprises looking to expand their services in a growing sector, given the increasing demand for such crucial support systems amidst the heightened challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The service is to enable victims of domestic abuse to be able to access community based services through the provision of Independent Domestic Abuse Advocates (IDAA). The IDAA service will co-ordinate services to address the safety of those considered to be most at risk and work within a multi-agency framework to improve the safety and wellbeing of victims of domestic abuse and their children. Serving as a victim's primary point of contact, the IDAAs will work with their clients from the point of crisis to assess the level of risk; liaise with key partners to develop a range of suitable options; coordinate and implement plans to address immediate safety; and put clients on the path to long term safety and improved wellbeing. Although the service will not work directly with children under the age of 16, it will make referrals to safeguard children at risk of harm.
