## Summary

The Ministry of Defence has initiated a procurement process for the purchase of Tactical Weaponised Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), specifically two Ghost Robotics Corporation V60 UGVs, along with a 2-year warranty package. This contract is classified under the goods category and falls within the reconnaissance and patrol vehicles sector. The procurement was awarded through a limited method, negotiated without publication of a contract notice, which is justified due to the technical nature of the UGVs required. The contract was signed on 1st March 2022, with a value of approximately £449,059.72 and a duration of 30 days.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly those specialising in defence technology and unmanned systems. Companies with capabilities in providing advanced robotics and weaponisation solutions would be well-suited to compete in future tenders. As the Ghost Robotics Corporation V60 is currently the only solution meeting the Ministry’s stringent requirements, insights into this niche market can drive growth for relevant suppliers. Firms that can demonstrate technological innovation and robust defence capabilities are likely to benefit from similar contracts as the sector evolves.
