## Summary

Derby City Council initiated a procurement process for the "Maintenance of existing Pay and Display machines," classified under the industry category of car park management services. The procurement stage has concluded with a complete status, and the contract has been awarded to Flowbird Smart City UK Ltd. This contract, valued at £311,029.55, was signed on 30th June 2022 and has a primary term of three years, with the possibility of extending for another two years. The procurement method used was a limited award procedure justified under the Technical Absence of Competition clause, stating that these services can only be delivered by the awarded supplier due to unique interoperability requirements.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in maintenance services, particularly those involved in parking solutions and enforcement technology. Enterprises with expertise in solar-powered systems or those that can demonstrate compatibility with existing equipment could thrive in this competitive landscape. The contract structure offers room for businesses looking for long-term partnerships, as the potential five-year duration accommodates both initial engagement and extension opportunities, fostering sustained business growth in the public sector.

## Notice
