The Requirement: The Supplier must arrange, undertake and record approximately 50 quality-assured Medical appraisals with DVLA Doctors within a 12 month timescale. Drivers Medical Group within DVLA currently employs 40 DVLA Doctors, 2 Junior Doctors and 1 Senior Medical Advisor (SMA) but this number is likely to increase over the life of this contract. The DVLA has indicated that approximately 50 quality assured Medical appraisals will be required on an annual basis but cannot guarantee minimum or maximum volumes. The Supplier's qualified appraiser workforce must be sufficient to provide the number of appraisals needed each year, these will take place over the year and an indication of the timetable will be discussed at the initial meeting.

The appraisal forms a mandatory requirement of the GMC's five-year license revalidation cycle. The Supplier must arrange, undertake and record approximately 50 of these quality-assured Medical appraisals with DVLA Doctors within a 12 month timescale.
