## Summary

The Business Services Organisation (BSO) is seeking support and maintenance for the National Health Application and Infrastructure Service (NHAIS) system, which is vital for managing primary care patient registrations and related services. This procurement, titled "NHAIS Annual Support + Maintenance", falls under the IT services sector and is currently in the award stage. The contract, valued at £50,000, was signed on 28 March 2022. The procurement process utilised a limited method without prior publication of a call for competition, as Dedalus is the sole supplier with the necessary expertise for supporting this system in Northern Ireland.

This procurement presents an opportunity for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those with experience in health informatics or database management. While Dedalus currently maintains the exclusive contract for NHAIS, enterprises with innovative solutions or supplementary services may find potential for partnership or future tenders within the public health sector. Companies focusing on cybersecurity advancements, software upgrades, or tailored maintenance solutions could be well-positioned to respond to future needs as the NHAIS undergoes updates as part of the Digital Identity Project.
