## Summary

The Common Services Agency, known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), has recently completed a procurement process for the provision of support services for Docman 7.X and Docman Transfer, essential software used in GP practices throughout Scotland. This contract, valued at £2,937,000, was awarded following a limited procurement method without prior publication. The procurement process transitioned to the contract award stage on the 21st of April 2022, although the contract has since been reported as completed. The services will be provided across various locations in Scotland, ensuring continuity in clinical records management critical to NHS operations.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for service providers focusing on IT solutions within the healthcare sector, particularly those adept in software support and consulting services. Businesses with expertise in managing clinical records systems and a solid understanding of NHS operational requirements will be well-positioned to compete. The ongoing essential nature of the service can lead to sustained contracts, especially as the NSS plans for future developments in document management systems, signalling a potential transition period that could require additional support services.
