## Summary

The Kirklees Council is initiating a planned tender for the "Cultural Heart, Huddersfield" project, a major construction initiative situated in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. This project falls under the construction industry category and has an estimated value of £100 million, specifically focusing on urban development construction work. The aim of this regeneration scheme is to create a vibrant cultural hub encompassing leisure, arts, and improved public spaces over an area of approximately 7.8 acres. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with a key date set for a Buyers Day event on 22nd April 2022, where potential main contractors can engage with the project team to learn more about the programme.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in construction, regeneration, and urban development. Suitable candidates for this tender would include firms experienced in large-scale projects involving new builds and extensive refurbishment. The Council is looking to appoint up to two main contractors for different zones, which could allow smaller businesses the chance to partner or subcontract with larger organisations. Engaging in this project could not only enhance a contractor’s portfolio but also contribute to a more vibrant community, encouraging an influx of new visitors and fostering local economic growth.
