## Summary

The University of Exeter has recently completed a procurement process for the chartering of a research vessel as part of the ERC SEACHANGE Project. This contract was awarded on 30th March 2022, with the vessel required to undertake a 28-day research cruise from Southampton to Reykjavik, focusing on environmental data collection in the North Sea, North Atlantic, and north Icelandic shelf. The procurement was conducted using a limited negotiation method, without a public contract notice, and involved the hiring of boats with crew, classified under CPV code 60653000. The vessel must have specific capabilities and is needed from 16th April to 16th May 2022.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the maritime, environmental research, and marine service industries. Companies with expertise in providing fully equipped research vessels, particularly those that can meet the technical specifications outlined in the tender, would be well-suited to engage in similar future contracts. The involvement of the European Union in funding this project underlines the potential for growth and innovation in these sectors, particularly for businesses aiming to contribute to scientific research and environmental studies.
